Dr Fiona Hill, Owner Manager of Almanar Consultancy, is a qualified Anthropologist and Arab region consultant (BA Middle East Studies, PhD Anthropology from University of Melbourne; RSA/Cambridge Certificate in TEFL; Certificate in Upper Intermediate Arabic from Damascus University) who works to create effective bridges between intercultural competency and commercial outcomes.

Over the past 25 years, Fiona Hill repeatedly has visited Lebanon, Jordan, and Bahrain; studied and worked in Syria, Egypt, and Oman; and consulted professionally to Australian and international clients in Syria, Libya, the UAE, and Kuwait, with a particular focus on Saudi Arabia over the past decade.

Fiona is an active Member of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI), and the Australian Chamber of International Trade and served as an inaugural Councilor of the Council for Australian Arab Relations (CAAR) which promotes relations between Australia and the twenty two countries of the Arab League.

‏Fiona is a Senior Fellow of the Asia Institute at University of Melbourne, and an Honorary Fellow in the School of History, Heritage & Society at ‏Deakin University. Among her honours are the University of Melbourne Fanny Reading Award for Middle East Research and the Australian Government Endeavour Executive Award.
